Technology is indeed inseparable from efforts in facing the era of industrial revolution 4.0, especially to aim at the vision of 'Indonesia Emas 2045'. Head of the Technology Assessment and Application Agency (BPPT) Hammam Riza, who said technology has an important role in increasing Gross Domestic Product (GDP).
To increase GDP per capita, according to him, increasing the potential that exists in the region is certainly also very necessary. "Those in certain regions are also asked to increase all of their potential in order to contribute to increasing local to national GDP. But indeed per capita income does not increase much, different from national GDP," said Hammam Riza, after inaugurating the Innovation Corner Cassava Castle, in Bandar Lampung, Lampung On Friday (7/19/2019). He claimed to get a lot of information that BPPT through the Pati Technology Center (B2TP) contributed to the development of a national innovation ecosystem in Lampung province.
The former Deputy of Natural Resources Development Technology (TPSA) BPPT said there were many activities carried out by BPPT in the region. "I can input that there are many activities in Lampung, BPPT has become part of the national innovation ecosystem," Hammam explained.
This is done to channel the mastery of technology in order to have a positive impact on those who need technology to increase in various sectors, including the food industry sector.
"Trying to provide benefits for channeling mastery of technology, this is our basis for being able to play an active role for technology providers and users," Hammam said.
In Lampung, there are 74 factories that are able to produce tapioca until it reaches 2 tons. Therefore, the availability of raw materials for cassava or cassava which is below the minimum amount needed by the factory makes problems often arise.
Please note, tapioca factories in Lampung need raw materials of around 8 million tons to be able to reach the production target.
While the raw materials available there are currently below that number, which is around 6.5 to 7 million tons per year. According to Hammam, the problems experienced by the Tapioka factory in Lampung certainly can be overcome if they apply Science and Technology (Science and Technology)
